Valerie Grignol MD, FACS is an associate professor of surgery at The Ohio State University and James Cancer Center in the Division of Surgical Oncology. She specializes in the treatment of patients with soft tissue sarcomas, desmoid and breast cancer. Her research focuses on evidence-based treatment of patients with retroperitoneal and extremity sarcomas through multi-institutional datasets to study the natural history and treatment of the disease as well develop clinical trials thru collaborative working groups. She is a co-investigator evaluating biomarkers of sarcoma for the prediction of disease recurrence.
Dr. Grignol also serves as the program director of the Complex Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Ohio State University, which is a 2 year fellowship for surgical trainees in solid tumor multidisciplinary treatment and care. In addition to this she the James Physician Wellness Medical Director a program aimed at addressing professional satisfaction of medical staff.
