Samantha Ruff completed her general surgery residency at Northwell Health in Long Island, NY in 2015. During her residency she was a research fellow at the National Institutes of Health under the mentorship of Dr. Jonathan Hernandez where she created an ex vivo tumor model that maintained viability of resected tumor-containing tissue. Currently, she is a 2nd year Complex General Surgical Oncology and Hepatopancreatobiliary fellow at The Ohio State University. She plans to pursue a career as an academic surgeon-scientist.
