Dr. Lingxin Zhang is a Staff Pathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, University of Toronto. She obtained her medical degree at Peking University Health Science Center. She is a graduate of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Program at Washington University in St. Louis and completed fellowships in Orthopedic Pathology at Hospital for Special Surgery and Oncologic Surgical Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She joined faculty at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2020 and focuses on Bone/Soft Tissue and Head and Neck Pathology. She has been an active member of the Multidisciplinary Sarcoma Team across Sinai System and University Health Network, providing expert opinions on pathology diagnosis. Her research interest is in the pathologic, genomic and proteomic characterization of bone and soft tissue neoplasms and identification of diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers. The most recent expenditure looks into proteomics of mesenchymal neoplasms via imaging mass spectrometry, allowing the direct acquisition of spatial distribution of mass spectra.
